Computer Science

UNDERGRADUATE

Through the Department of Computer Science, you can pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.

Computer Science

The Computer Science degree program will teach you the fundamentals of computer science programming, data structure design, computer architecture, data communication, programming language design, software engineering, algorithm analysis and design, operating systems, computer graphics, and database systems. You will learn to work on a team, communicate effectively, design solutions to real-life problems, and understand the ethics related to computers.

Information Systems

Your degree in Information Systems will help you learn to manage information in the modern corporate and organizational environment. You will learn to work on a team, communicate effectively, design solutions to real-life problems, and understand the ethics related to computers. After earning your degree, you will be prepared for a career as a computer professional or possibly to pursue graduate study.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • 79 TOEFL or 6.5 IELTS score

The SAT test is not required for admission purposes.

GRADUATE

Earn your Master of Science in Applied Computer Science from Purdue University. The program stresses a hands-on, in-depth approach to the study of computers, with an emphasis on information analytics and software engineering. Courses are held in the evening to meet the needs of working professionals.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • TOEFL (77 or higher overall and the following minimum test section scores: reading, 19; listening, 14; speaking, 18; and writing, 18) or 6.5 IELTS or 58 PTE
  • GRE
  • Applicants should have strong undergraduate degrees in computer science, engineering, business, or mathematics. Applicants with another undergraduate degree and significant practical experience in the computer field may also be accepted.

 

IPFW Merit Scholarship

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS: Requirements

  • 87 TOEFL, 7.0 IELTS
  • Minimum 3.0 high school GPA
  • Pays $7,500 of tuition costs per year up to four years
  • Transfer students need to have completed at least 30 semester credits with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and completion of college level math and English

GRADUATE STUDENTS: Requirements

  • 87 TOEFL, 7.0 IELTS
  • Minimum 3.7 undergraduate GPA in the major
  • Pays the non-resident portion of tuition, estimated at approximately $7,682 per year (based on 2016-2017 tuition rates)
